Fox Execs Talk X-Files Revival at TCA - January 17, 2015

From TVLine:

Is the truth still out there? “It’s been reported, and it’s true, that we’ve had some conversations about [reviving] X-Files,” ideally with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, Newman shared. “But I have nothing that we can announce at this time.”

From Variety:

“The X-Files” is another vintage Fox property that is being eyed for a limited series reboot. Walden emphasized that outreach to series creator Chris Carter and stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny has just barely started and there’s nothing close to a deal coming together yet. But the success of the “24” revival has them looking more deeply in the vault. Newman joked that he saw speculation about a “Prison Break” revival that was news to him but a welcome idea.

From GiveMeMyRemote.com :

Fox Television Group Chairman and CEO, Gary Newman, told reporters at the end of the Fox TCA exec session that there were early talks about potentially bringing X-FILES back for an event series. After the panel, when Newman spoke with reporters, I asked him what the progress was of a potential series, and who would actually be attached. “What I can say is that if this happens, it’ll be with David [Duchovny (Mulder)] and Gillian [Anderson (Scully)] reprising their roles,” Newman said. “[X-FILES creator] Chris [Carter] is interest, both David and Gillian are interested. Scheduling is very difficult. David has his show, Gillian is doing something in the UK. I really don’t know how fast it can happen, but there are ongoing conversation happening.”
