Planet Grande Pictures and animation studio Cuppa Coffee have teamed up to produce a stop-motion version of actor David Duchovny’s novel Holy Cow.
The title will be produced as a musical holiday special for 2016. Billy Frolick (Madagascar) is set to pen the script. Duchovny, of The X-Files and Californication fame, published the book earlier this year.
“I fell in love with David (Duchovny’s) book and it was a natural progression to bring together the talented animation team at Cuppa Coffee,” said Veronica Brady, the producer for Planet Grande.
“Along with David (Duchovny), we are creating a unique stop-motion holiday special for 2016 and we are excited to now shop it to the networks,” added Adam Shaheen, the executive producer at Cuppa Coffee.
“Holy Cow was a lot of fun to write, and seeing it now turned into an animated film is a thrill,” Duchovny remarked.
